Cotton Bunting Design & Construction
“We only use very high quality furnishing weight cottons, which are straight stitched and over-locked – this means super strength with no ironing lines, fraying, ‘seam lines’ and virtually invisible edges when hanging... all in all, a very traditional and simple finish”
Bunting Hire is not just about having pretty designs, it’s also about having flags that don’t overwhelm a venue but don’t vanish into it either – the sizes, and styles we adopted when we set up in 2008 have been copied by many new bunting hire companies so we must be doing it right!
Fabric quality and sewing is also extremely important for a bunting hire business – the flag fabrics need to look fabulous but also last season after season of man-handling and washing, looking as good as the day they were made. Our sewing techniques and fabric preferences mean we can make stunning double sided designs that are very strong but flap beautifully without additional tapes or turning to strengthen or hold flag shape, or have the dreaded ‘wooden’ flag effect! And with thousands of metres available and more in the pipeline, we have plenty to go round...
We make beautiful bunting designs in a simple, traditional style!
Bunting Hire Bunting Particulars
Most of our bunting flags are cut and sewn to approx 24x30cm / 9.5x11.9” with 30 flags per 12m string. The only exceptions are our ‘Union Flag’ sets which have slightly smaller flags at 20cm wide X 26cm long / 7.5 X 10.5 inches and 36 flags per string (this may vary slightly due to wear, repairs and laundering etc).
Our designs are all double sided, with the exceptions of our ‘very vintage’ bunting
hire sets. (Bunting details are below each picture on the design gallery to the left).
Every string has a loop sewn in to each end at half the usual flag gap so when linked
carefully, the bunting looks like one continuous length with equal gaps between each
flag. For help with bunting hire, please see our Bunting FAQ’s page.
